About Us

Welcome to Jazzy's River House! We are Steve and Ruby Kim Fergus, the owners and operators. Our guests are more then short-time tenants to us, and our whole aim is for your experience to transcend the typical vacation hotel stay. There are plenty of Holiday Inns for that. Our cabina is more Swiss Family Robinson than Ritz Carlton and we know our guests are lookiing for that type of adventure.   

We built our home and guest cabina on the banks of the Rio Baru with four generations of family in tow. From the gruff Scotsman Forbes to his freckled great-granddaughter Jasmine, this 1/2 acre of solace was our clan's return to communal living.  Vibrant are the forces of nature here in the jungle and the River House's call soon drew many a like-minded traveller to its front steps.  

While Jazzy's began as a restaurant, the early incarnation of the River House was more karmic refueling station for quixotic wanderers than traditional diner, though there were indeed some fine meals served along the way. Wednesday night dinners followed by acoustic jam sessions for any guest with an inclination. During the rest of the week, Jazzy's was part trading library and full-time community hub, where friends new and old became just simply, family.
 
Now, we are happily inviting guests like you  into our lives by offering our cabina. We also offer our expertise in surf lessons and rentals, yoga, massage, music and the tropical arts. Just ask!  We can't wait to meet you. Join us, won't you?
